Yah i know i havent updated for awhile, heres some problems that have come up in the last few days:
-Idle speed needs o be set, car has trouble staying alive and dies 80% of the time i put it in gear (R or D).
-The electric choke cable works, only one problem is that the vaccuum isnt working for it and its not opening, the wire is the only thing opening it and that isnt fast enough, so you gotta stand there and keep it open for a bit til the electric wire kicks in.
-I need a new rad, the one right now is clogged or something and its overheating the engine. I put the bars leak stuff into it and its squirting out a yellowish liquid from the passenger side of the rad were the leak is. So I think the rad is gone.
-The heaterblock (or w/e its called) is really broken, after a while of running the car smoke comes up from the center console and the carpetting around there is warm.

Thats about it for problems, heres what ive accomplished:
-Got the center console lights to work (including the clock)
-I checked and the mount fits in the car (from the radio) its not instlaled but i know now it fits.

Thats all ive done recently but heres what i might be getting:
-A new center console, since the one i have now is in pretty rough shape. Dunno how much, the guy will show me pictures tommorrow (well today, its 12:44am :P )
-Im thinking of getting a nice silver dash for it. Not for sure yet, but they do look snazzy (http://mc-machine.com/79dash/images/installed2.jpg) chances are i wont get it, but hey we can dream right?

Thats about it, more updates on that center console later.

Well i semed to do alright for chrismas, most of the stuff i got was for the car. Air fresheners, oil, gift certificate to a&b sound, a whell lock (i already have a club from my dad, but this ones new and yellow :P), tolls to work on the car, and some other stuff. Just today i bought a new stereo (w/ the gift certificate) and this things gonna be sweet! I cant wait to get it installed (i have to find some speakers!), but i have to wait to get new locks for the pasenger side door (might as well get one for the driver side also. My dad also lent me his digi cam to take some better pictures of the stang so ill be doing that soon!

So when i get back i got alot of stuff to install! New raditor cap, Hatchback Lifts, new locks (havent bought yet), fix the raditor leak, finish the job for the hood locks, and give her a wash ;)

Once agian, i was thinking of getting the day insurance and something else goes wrong. I found the problem with the choke and hopefully fixed it. I found a wire that has power running through it (found this out with the testing light) when the key is turned, when its not there is no power. I dunno what this wire is for, all i know is one end goes into the plastic thing here (the has a wire going into the top part of the carb)

So i hooked up a new wire (orange!) to a metal connecting part of the wire and hooked it up to the electric choke. Hoping it would work today, and going to see, i turned the key and......nothing. The battery doesnt seem to be dead, theres no amps running through it but the voltmeter reads 13 volts when the keys out. I think some little prick might have done something again so tommorrow or friday im instlaling these little guys

The main part is a hood pin, and we jsut bought padlocks and instead of sliding the pin part into the rod, im just gonna put a padlock there. My stepdad said i shouldn't even put the pin assembly on the hood, just use the rod but i think the pin part would help it look a little less "weird" and also will stop the lock from bouncing around.

So that should stop the little rascals, i mean there not dedicated criminals, if you really wanted you could get past this, but i mean for an auto shop, this should do fine. All these kids wanna do is just mess around, not really do work for anything.

I also got another thing of some raditor stop leak stuff, my stepdad said that this new stuff (i forget what brand) is stronger, so ill try it since the last stuff didnt work because the engine kept dying. Also jsut got a new raditor cap, i tihnk the current ones broken, if its not oh well its just 4 bucks.

I think im gonna be getting a whole security package for my car, I looked and i think i might look into getting this:

Only 80ish bucks, not too bad so this paycheck ill get it and install it on my car (as long as i get get the damn power locks off my car). Might as well get all this, its gonna be a spiffed upcar, might as well make it secure.

Was hoping to take my car for a test drive today (register it for a day) but i didnt get the transfeer papers yesterday. Anyways heres whats up with the car:

  • We got the new gaskets on (cork) and they seem to be working fine except for the fact its still burning a bit of oil. My auto teacher says its just prolly from when it was leaking before (somes comming out of the manifold (and just today we noticed from the dipstick hose) so he says it should stop if i keep it running or we could clean it.
  • We found the problem to the engine stalling. The choke doesnt have eletrical power. When i press on the gas, the choke opens but as soon as i left off the pedal, so does the choke. I took some mini jumper cables and with the engine running hooked them upto the choke hook-up thingy, and the other end to the battery. The engine ran smoothly and didnt have any troubles. Now comes the hard part, finding were the wire for the choke is supposed to come from, i searched and couldnt find anything so it looks like in the next few days im going to have to go on a scanvenger (sp) hunt to either find the wire thats supposed to go on there, or at least find where its supposed to come from, we can make a wire
  • I thought i fixed the raditor leak but i dont think so, im going to go out and buy 2 more things of the super sealent (there only like 3 bucks...) and pour them in and thne top off the rad. Its not leaking as bad, but its still leaking. Prolly because the engine wasnt running very good (we didnt know the choke wasnt working).
  • Got the brake light and the blinker light replaced. I accidently mixed up the blinker and brake light things so the brake is on the outside socket while the blinker is on the inside (its supposed to be ther other way around). Its easy to fix but it means i have to get somebody to hold up the heavy hatchback while i do it, and thats not fun :P.

Installed a new mirror today (the button is a little crooked, but whatever), and new windshelid wipers (16"). I also got Valve cover gaskets, so were working on replacing those and while doing that, cleaning out the covers and shiat around there. Might take a few blocks but whatever, it will run much better hopefully!
